It has come to our attention that a number of inquiry submissions since the end of July have vanished into the ether thanks to some mis-behaving code. We apologize for the inconvenience. The contact form has been repaired and we encourage you to reach out again if you haven’t heard from a Formation Coordinator. Our sincere apologies. In true Franciscan fashion, the website gremlins have not been harmed, but carefully relocated to a gremlin sanctuary on the city outskirts. Thank-you for your patience!
Principle of the Day
14. In obedience to our Lord Jesus Christ and the example of Saint Francis, we are bearers of peace which must be built up unceasingly. We are compelled to seek out ways of resolving conflict through non- violent means, trusting in the presence of the divine soul in everyone and in the transforming power of love and pardon.-

I consider myself to be a Franciscan already and here is why. About five years ago I entered formation with a secular Franciscan order in my province and with the help of a spiritual guide proceeded through over half of the process, but when the leader of the group discovered that I was not attending the monthly meetings, she refused me full entry. The reason I could not attend monthly meetings was because I lived 5 hours away from where they were held, had no vehicle, and could not afford other means of travel to get there. However, I continued on with the process of formation anyway and so, as I said, consider myself a Franciscan – but I have wished to be part of a community and have come across your website. I greatly welcome that you are ecumenical and that you welcome married priests. But I am wondering as to your response to acceptance of women to the priesthood.
Would you consider me as a candidate?
